Common Myths About Private Jets

JetThere are countless ways that traveling by private jet can improve a passenger’s flight experience. While traveling via private jet isn’t an option for everyone, it’s much more available than many assume.

Myths About Private Jets

Below are a few common myths regarding flying in private jets:

  • Only wealthy people can travel in a private jet – This is the most common myth regarding private flight. While traveling via private jet is considerably more costly than flying commercial, it isn’t as out-of-reach as many people assume. In fact, most private jets at the airport are owned by charter services and mostly used by those traveling for business.
  • Private jets are grounded in the same situations as commercial flights – Because private jets are able to land at more airports than commercial aircraft, this myth is not true. Private jets have the option of choosing an alternate airport or waiting out bad weather.
  • Private jets are more dangerous than regular airplanes – Private planes are regulated by the same standards set by the FAA as commercial planes. All of these aircraft are regularly and rigorously monitored to ensure safety and security.
  • Commercial flying is faster than flying privately – Private planes actually travel more quickly than commercial planes. This is because private planes are able to fly above commercial planes and the weather problems that exist at that elevation.
