The Benefits of Starting Flying School in the Fall

Trees changing color in the fall

Even if school looks a little different this year, it's officially back in session! As fall approaches, students are starting to study for exams and think about moving onto college, a career, or a trade.

While you may never have thought of it before, it turns out that fall is also the perfect time of year to start flying school!

Flight School in the Fall

  • There are beautiful sights in autumn – Fall is one of the most beautiful seasons to view from the cockpit! An expanse of wilderness bathed in green, red, orange, and yellow hues is breathtaking.
  • The weather is more predictable – In terms of weather fluctuations, fall is the most predictable season in which to fly. Pilots don't have to deal with flights that are grounded due to spring thunderstorms, summer tornadoes, or winter blizzards.
  • The air becomes thinner – Fall temperatures are perfect when it comes to the performance of an aircraft. Airplanes function more efficiently in colder temperatures; as we know, cold air is denser than warm air. Thinner air also provides pilots with less turbulence, quicker takeoffs, and decreased stress on the engine.
  • It's not as busy as other seasons – Fall doesn't see the same influx of private pilots as different seasons. Depending on how you best learn, fall might be the perfect time for those who want to learn at a more relaxed pace.

If you've always dreamed of becoming a pilot, now is the best time to enroll! Come and enjoy a 60-minute test flight and explore the beautiful Wasatch front. Experience the power and prestige of the Cirrus SR22 Turbo and the Cirrus SR20 - every pilot's new dream plan! To learn more, please contact Elevate Aviation here in Salt Lake City, Utah!
