2 Flying Licenses You Should Be Aware Of in Advance
If you’re about to join flying school, it is natural to spend hours surfing through various flight training academy websites while trying to learn everything you can in advance. Although it won’t be possible to learn all the terms, abbreviations, acronyms, and phrases before you even join the flying school, there are certain things you can learn right now.
Following are the two important licenses that you need to be aware of in advance.
ATPL Integrated (Airline Transport Pilot License) – This is the highest-ranked license required by all pilots who plan on flying large passenger or cargo airplanes weighing 5700 kg or above. To get this license, students are required to take an intensive course that lasts almost two years. At the end of the course, you will also acquire a Commercial Pilot License called ATPL Frozen license.
PPL (A) (Private Pilot License) – If you don’t intend to fly for commercial purposes and are learning to fly planes as a hobby, for tourism, or other personal transportation, you should opt to get a PPL. A Private Pilot License is the most basic course to acquire a pilot license and only takes a year to complete. On its own, this license only permits you to fly private planes for personal purposes. However, once you get this license, you can easily get add-on ratings, such as instrument, night flight, or instructor, opening up more possibilities for you. If you acquire the necessary knowledge, you can always find a way to advance your learning.
