• PPL (A) (Private Pilot License) – If you don’t intend to fly for commercial purposes and are learning to fly planes as a hobby, for tourism, or other personal transportation, you should opt to get a PPL. A Private Pilot License is the most basic course to acquire a pilot license and only takes a year to complete. On its own, this license only permits you to fly private planes for personal purposes. However, once you get this license, you can easily get add-on ratings, such as instrument, night flight, or instructor, opening up more possibilities for you.
