Cirrus AircraftsCirrus Aircraft has recently announced that CEO and Co-Founder, Dale Klapmeier is planning to step down from his position at the company in 2019. He will be transitioning into a senior advisory role at Cirrus Aircraft. With this news, many expect a new CEO to be named early this year.

Requiring the announcement Klapmeier said, “Re-imagining personal transportation has been our lifelong mission at Cirrus Aircraft,” “We’ve changed the face of aviation over the past 30 years – from delivering more than 7,000 of the world’s best-selling high-performance piston aircraft, to fundamentally rethinking how we travel by the introduction of the world’s first single-engine Personal JetTM – the Vision® Jet, to transforming our business into a lifestyle company that defines our path ahead.”

Cirrus Aircraft has shown constant innovation over the past 30 years continuing to raise the bar in terms of comfort, performance, and safety in the personal aviation industry. The company transformed aviation with innovations like the Vision Jet delivered in 2016. The Vision Jet was awarded the Robert J. Collier Trophy – one of the most prestigious awards in aeronautics.

Klapmeier continued, “Transitioning out of day-to-day operations will give me the opportunity to focus on long-term strategic opportunities… I could not be more confident in the team and I am excited about what lies ahead for the entire Cirrus family. For Cirrus Aircraft employees, partners and owners around the world, the best is yet to come.”
